I don't know if this is just a regional thing, but in CA Michael's
has their Strathmore pads for 50% off this week. A good time to
stock up on those nifty 3x5 pads, tracing paper, etc.
And, if you're REALLY cheap (like me), you can remove the binding
from those 3x5 pads & divide the sheets up into several smaller pads,
for several letterboxes. You can re-bind them with twist-ems.

I've been finding the coolest notebooks at dollar stores. I practically bought out the stock of one type that measures 4" X 4" -- a perfect size! Dollar stores are SUPERB for ALL your letterboxing needs, including the boxes. Check them out!

Rand--
For what it's worth, we bought a bunch of the 4 x 4 books from the dollar store, but what we're finding out now is the glue on the binding isn't holding well and pages slip out rather easily...but so many other things we buy there are serving our purposes very well!
Take care,
Robin

I also bought a roll of clear binding tape at the dollar store and taped the front and back covers and pages in place and it seems to be doing the trick! : ) Where there's a (cheap) will there's a way! lol

Yes, the dollar stores are great! I wander through on a
regular basis looking for boxing supplies. Its hard to find those little
notebooks with unlined paper.

Information for the uninitiated: Dollar Tree and Dollar Bills stores, owned by the same parent company, are WELL worth the regular stroll for boxing supplies. To date, nearly everything in my boxes -- including the Rubbermade-esque boxes and the Hefty ziplog bags they're buried in -- have come from Dollar Tree: bound notepads, mechanical pencils, colored stamp pads, 10-packs of small folded napkins for clean up. Also try privately owned/operated dollar stores in your area. Why pay more? : )
